For any social network to get success first guys like robert scoble, guy kawasaki, steve rubel and other early adoptors are required. These early adoptors can be different set of people at different places according to the category of the social network. For example, these won’t be the same set of people as early adoptor on soundcloud.
Secondly they need brands and pornstars. Yeah! Pornstars. When you see pornstars following you – that’s ‘the real social network’ success criteria. Google + in future or for any other social network to be successful needs brands and / or pornstars.
